Visionary Art by Samuel Farrand

Shimmer | 2017

Shimmer | 2017

Sometimes the best art pieces don't take years to create or needs to be multilayered packed with detail to be considered masterful. Shimmer took me probably about 5 hours max to create but of all my art I've ever created this piece goes viral every time its posted.

There must be something about the simplicity, balance and colors that just makes this image resonate with so many people, perhaps its the visual appeal or perhaps this simple image speaks to our soul in a deep and profound way?

I always saw Shimmer as a symbol of our infinite nature always shining bright & radiating energy. It's almost as if Shimmer is the expression of pure light itself, which when light is split, it fractals into a infinite array of shimmering sparkling diamonds.

What does Shimmer communicate to you? Leave it in the comments at the bottom!

Visionary Artist - Samuel Farrand

Creating visionary art as early as 2007, Samuel Farrand evokes the psychedelic style of artists such as Alex Grey, Robert Venosa, Victor Moscoso, Luke Brown, and Xavi Panneton.

Samuel weaves electrifying neon colors, complex patterns, and intricate mandalas into his visionary art, narrating a story in each piece rich with meaning and symbolism.

Today, Sam has become one of the leading artists in the modern psychedelic art movement. He has showcased his visionary work at venues such as Threyda along side other digital artists such as Android Jones, Jake Amason, Steven McCorry (Glass Crane) & Justin Totemical as well as temporary art installations across Burning Man and psytrance music festivals across the globe. He has teamed with VJ greats such as Jonathan Singer who has projection mapped for the Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well Tour and appeared behind famous DJs such as Trip-Hop Legend Dave Tipper.

Samuel Farrand's visionary art extends beyond music festival culture. Notably, his work is featured at Meow Wolf in both the Las Vegas and Santa Fe locations.

One of his fondest career moment was having his visionary artwork grace the cover of best-selling author/plant shaman Chris Kilham's best-selling cult literature "Ayahuasca: A Test Pilot's Handbook," which was featured live on CNN—a pivotal moment in the history of plant medicine.
