Samuel Farrand is an American-Scandinavian visionary artist based near Asheville, NC. His artistic journey began in New England, where he studied Art History, Illustration, and Design Theory. Creating digital psychedelic art since 1998, much of his inspiration is drawn from the American Jamband and Festival community. His Scandinavian heritage and connection to Nordic shamanism also add a mystical dimension to his work, and his career as a digital artist is driven by both personal passion and professional excellence.

Samuel’s creative process begins with the creation of simple line vectors in Adobe Illustrator. These vectors are transferred to Adobe Photoshop and rasterized into more intricate, detailed illustrations. He combines multiple illustrations into multi-segmented compositions, adding familiar subject matter like grass, clouds, and mountains to enhance the narrative. He maintains a growing graphics library with over 663 PSD files and 491 completed pieces, allowing him to reuse and refine elements across his visionary work, creating increasingly complex compositions.
